  • DK

DAD & KIDS DK Family since 1979

OUR MISSION: To provide the best BMX bikes, parts and accessories in the world.

    WE STEM FROM A STEM.

DK Bicycles was founded in Dayton, Ohio by Charlie Danishek in 1979.

Charlie was an engineer with GM. His children, Bill and Nikki, were both accomplished BMX racers. The Danisheks’ love for the sport combined with Charlie's knowledge of manufacturing drove the patriarch to design his company's first product: the now legendary DK BMX stem. For 15 years after its inception, DK stems defined the state of design in BMX.

Since 1994, DK has also been making BMX frames, including the iconic RM59, General Lee, Colin Winkleman’s signature S.O.B frame, and the late Team frame. This led to DK’s first line of complete BMX bikes in 1997.

From there, we’ve never looked back.

    About Dogtown Skateboards

“Our only Crime is Being Original”

Dogtown, as a concept, has existed since the early 1970’s. It was the birthplace of progressive skateboarding, Santa Monica/Venice, California. In the celebrated documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys, Santa Monica/Venice was a forgotten slum by the sea. Out of the wreckage of Abbot Kinney’s dream town gone bad, roamed young surfers searching for outlets after the surf got blown out. They found it through an aggressive approach to skateboarding never seen before. Jim Muir, the founder of Dogtown Skateboards, was one of these kids. For 38 years Dogtown Skateboards has been synonymous with hardcore skateboarding.
